Dancing With The Stars

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC) began producing River City Dancing With The Stars (RCDWTS) to raise money for singer scholarships and ongoing programming for The Chorus. Since 2020, the event was produced in partnership with All About Ballroom dance studio located in Jacksonville, FL. The event features a dance competition where local leaders of Jacksonville are partnered with professional dance instructors to compete for the coveted mirror ball trophy.

All competing star showcase performances are scored by a panel of judges (50%) and audience votes (50%). The three judges will be using paddles with scoring from 1 to 10 - 10 being the best - to rate each star's performance. Audience votes ($1 = 1 vote) are determined by the overall money raised before and during the event for the stars and their professional dance partners. The judges scores, along with audience votes, will help choose River City’s favorite dancer.

Jacksonville Children’s Chorus

100% of proceeds from the event will benefit the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus. Jacksonville Children’s Chorus provides exceptional music education for children of diverse backgrounds creating impactful choral performances. The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus serves as a cultural beacon for the children of Northeast Florida, and is critical to the First Coast’s future cultural health and quality of life. Tuition from our performance choirs and performance fees cover a small percentage of the budget required to provide high-quality music education, outreach and performance opportunities for First Coast children. Because music education is important to a child’s development, JCC offers a scholarship program to ensure every child who desires to participate may do so regardless of a family’s inability to afford tuition and more than 44% of children who participate receive financial aid.
