Sunny Gettinger

Sunny Gettinger is very excited to be dancing for such a great cause! She has been at Google for almost two decades and currently is the Head of External Communications for GFiber, Alphabet’s multi-gig internet service provider. She’s also worked in HR, change management, and government affairs during her time at the company. In life before Google, she worked in the political and non-profit world, serving on both Al Gore and Wesley Clark’s presidential campaigns and running publicity and publications for the California Shakespeare Theatre.
Sunny moved to Jacksonville in 2009 with her husband and fell in love with the community and got involved. She currently serves on the board of Leadership Jacksonville and the Jewish Community Alliance, and is the past chair of Riverside Avondale Preservation’s and the Riverside Arts Market. She’s also served as the Vice Chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Duval board, the Memorial Park Association, and Jacksonville Public Library’s Advisory Council. A former City Council candidate for District 14 in Jacksonville, she is a founding member of 904ward, helping lead the group’s work on the Race Card project and is an active PTA mom at Stanton High School and LaVilla School of the Arts. She lives in Avondale with her husband Trey Csar, their two boys, Cort and Max, and their spirited pups Dobby and Sirius. She holds a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School and BA in English from Yale.
