River City’s Stars Score A Perfect 10 For The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - May 3, 2022 -- On Saturday, April 30th, 2022, the Jacksonville Children's Chorus (JCC) hosted the River City Dancing With The Stars (River City DWTS). Seats were filled with excitement and families joined from home through live stream. Audience members anticipated the results of their favorite star’s dance rehearsals. 

River City DWTS featured leaders from a variety of communities in Jacksonville. Partnering with professional ballroom dancers, they competed to be River City’s favorite dancer while also raising scholarship and programming funds for the JCC. With impressive tricks and perfect scores of 10s across the board, the star panel of judges was amazed throughout the night. The River City DWTS event was emceed by the 2021 River City Dancing with the Stars champion and queen of poker, Allison “AllieMcDeal” Hollander, and voice of the Jacksonville Icemen, Arley Johnson. The judges of the night included ballroom dance professional Muhidin Divovic, past event participant and President & CEO of Live Oak Contracting Paul Bertozzi, and 2019 champion Crystal Ganpath-Freed.

After a night full of dance showcases and an awesome performance of an ABBA medley by the JCC Touring & Concert Choirs, the winners were finally determined. 2nd Runner-Up was awarded to Christine Bell, Chief Operations Counsel of Acosta for her unique tango. 1st Runner-Up was awarded to Lynn Salvatore, Associate Attorney at Zisser Family Law for her upbeat swing. Finally, the 2022 champion of River City DWTS was awarded to Kareen Dorsett, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Florida Blue Medicare for her fun and upbeat Caribbean fusion cha-cha hustle.
