River City’s Stars Share Personal Ties With Performing Arts & Cultural Programs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - APRIL 1, 2022 -- The 2022 River City Dancing With the Stars competition is a month away and as each star is preparing to fundraise for the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, some have recognized their personal ties and experiences with similar performing arts organizations.

During their fundraising efforts, contestants learn more about JCC’s mission to help strengthen support from their community. In a recorded interview with star contestant Christine Bell, Chief Operations Counsel of Acosta Inc. says, “I think singing is important and particularly during the pandemic, I was happy to see that the children can continue their love for singing through the JCC.” Kareen Dorsett, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Florida Blue Medicare relates to the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus through her own children’s passion for music and performing arts. “We have a pretty musical family and have benefited from the arts,” says Dorsett. “We have seen how it has enriched our family and we support JCC’s mission.”

Through her continued support of JCC, Giselle Carson, Shareholder of Marks Gray P.A. returns as an event ambassador and showcase performer for 2022 River City Dancing With the Stars for a second year. Carson says, “Born in Cuba, creativity, and innovation were not part of your education so seeing how these programs impact Jacksonville’s children is tremendous.”

The 2022 River City Dancing with the Stars event will be held at the UNF Lazzara Performance Hall on April 30, 2022. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the show begins at 6:30 pm. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Jacksonville Children's Chorus singer scholarships and ongoing programs.
